After six months of research, writing, transcribing, and editing, “When She Cries: Stories of Women of Alabaster” has been uploaded to my publisher. It’s out of my hands, and now we wait for formatting and publication. I have a new awareness and compassion for the invisible women of our society: the homeless, addicts, and sex workers seeking comfort in the most dangerous places, our city streets. Scarlet Hudson, known as “Mama Scar” and her volunteers go out at night to minister to the women with prayers, hugs, love, food, and basic supplies. Her organization is called “Women of Alabaster,” and she has a vision from God to expand care beyond the Day Centers in Hamilton and Cincinnati: a farm for extended services for women in recovery. I hope people will support her mission. I’ll keep you posted on a date of book release and events.
